Shefford Churches Working Together held a series of six Lent Lunches
at the Shefford Community Hall starting on Saturday 9th February.
There
was no fixed charge made for the simple, wholesome lunches, but
donations were invited to go towards the work of Christian Aid.
Each of the churches took it in turns to provide the food (and do
the washing up...).
Attendance exceeded all expectations, with 40-50 people attending
each week!
In total, £620 was raised for Christian Aid, which,
added to the Christian Aid Week envelope collection, should result
in yet another record year of giving by the generous folk of Shefford.
If you missed the Lent Lunches this year, fear not ; they will
be back again next year - keep an eye out for posters, or watch
this website for details nearer the time...
