 Poets Corner

 Robert Lines

I am St George

I am a man whose name is George
I made my weapons at a forge.

Once I saved a pagan town
From a dragon with an evil frown.

The beast wasn't satisfied with sheep
Anyway he was a creep.

He was only pleased with a princess
At the time she was wearing a beautiful dress.

As I got close I was filled with fear
Because I was now extremely near

I lashed him and thrashed him with my deadly sword.
With the help of the faithful Lord.

I freed the princess she thanked me so much
She promised that she would keep in touch.

I sailed away with my crest on my sail
As there was now a tremendous gale..
