Befrienders Needed For Yarls Wood

The Bishop of Bedford has written to ask that more people volunteer to support the detainees at the Clapham Centre near Bedford.

The aim is to find a befriender for all the 70 women, who include asylum seekers who have fled from traumatic circumstances and are invariably frightened and lonely. The number of detainees is expected to increase significantly over the next year.
